A Sanctuary RV Weekend

Lindsey was about to have a birthday. She decided that she would like to do something different for this one, so she searched the web and found our website. Yes, she decided, it would be great fun to spend the day at Saving Animals for Everyone Sanctuary with Ed her boyfriend and her 2 rescued Chihuahuas. While speaking to Lilly, the Director of the Sanctuary, Lilly suggested that they make a weekend of it and enjoy the whole Sanctuary experience by renting an RV, bring it to the Sanctuary and hook it up at the RV site available and stay for the weekend.

Lindsey did not hesitate, she put the wheels in motion and Friday at noon she, Ed and the dogs pulled into an amazing place called Saving Animals for Everyone Sanctuary. She was not sure what was to come, but it surely looked like a great adventure. After setting up the RV, they took a tour of the sanctuary, learning the animals and the stories of how they came to reside here. Saturday morning at the crack of dawn Lindsey was ready to assist Lilly with feeding the many animals and birds at the Sanctuary. She learned how to mix the feed for Buster, the mini pony, Willow, the Monkey, Raj, the camel, Paula, the pygmy goat, Sahara, the Fennec Fox, Shantie, the wolf, the macaws, cockatoos, parakeets, love bird, and many more. Lilly explained why certain animals needed specific feed and also
medications.

After feeding the animals, the daily chores started, like cleaning cages, raking the pasture, checking all the cages for any signs of needed repair. Break time was very welcomed by Lindsey and Ed. There is a lot to this Sanctuary experience. Then Lindsey got her project assignment of designing a new bird aviary with branches and toys. She used a variety of wood perches and many toys. After some final touches, the aviary now houses diamond doves and parakeets. It looks awesome. After lunch, Lilly took Lindsey on two animal rescue trips to assess whether the Sanctuary could take any of the animals and to assist other agencies with the rescue. Later in the afternoon Lindsey, Ed, and Lilly took a ride around the neighborhood.

Lindsey and Ed are from the city, and it was very interesting to them to tour a very rural area. They also visited with a few people who had adopted animals in the area, and also, with a mini potbelly pig named Princess and her owner Mark. Princess lives in the house, has her own canopy bed, and lovely 14k gold jewelry with her name on it. She also enjoys going camping with the family every weekend.

On Sunday, they relaxed and enjoyed photo ops with many animals. But before it was time to go, they enjoyed getting up close and personal with many of the animals and got great shots to remember their great RV Weekend Adventure.
